Curb Appeal

Two things remain irretrievable: time and a first impression. Let’s kick off 2022 with our best façade forward!

Curb appeal is a facet of a home, just as much as a bedroom or a bathroom, and investing in our home’s outer appearance is proven to increase the average sale price when it comes time to sell. There are budget-friendly things you can do to help your home’s exterior give a good first impression, even in winter:

  • Offer a front door that’s easily identifiable.
That may mean a distinctive paint or stain color, a unique light overhead, or sconces on either side.
  • Make your garage attractive.
Little updates like pressure washing, a fresh coat of paint, new faux hardware, and window coloring can go a long way.
  • Keep your front walkway and driveway clear of snow.
Your home will look more welcoming, as it creates a clear entry. And your mail carrier will appreciate this too!
  • Replace the house numbers on your home.
Make sure they are easy to read from the street. You can buy new numbers at places like WayfairHome Depot, and even Etsy.
  • Update your mailbox.
Try to color-coordinate the mailbox with your front door, window frames, and/or shutters. A cohesive color palette will make your home look more refined and well-kept.

When your home looks well taken care of from the outside, people, including potential buyers, will assume the rest of the house is taken care of, too!
